Pros:
Fantastic drivers car. Legendary Honda reliability even for a 13 yr old car. Fast and solid. Sounds great when Vtec kicks in. Surprises many newer \"hot Hatch\" drivers when sitting on the my back door. The steering is firm and full of feel and it has the best front grip of any front wheel drive car I\'ve ever driven, even in the wet you have to push hard to understeer.
The driving position is excellent:- you sit low with your legs out in front of you..especially comfy on long drives. The ride is firm but fairly compliant over rough surfaces.
Cons:
May as well be driving an Impreza considering the fuel consumption, (Max 290 or so miles on a tank) Weird 80\'s style digital dash (but it does grow on you) My wife thinks I drive the \"back to the future car\"(mine is silver) and keeps asking where i keep the \"flux capacitor\"! Can be noisy over some road surfaces due to lack of insulation but then its not a luxobarge so not really an issue for me. As with most powerful (180 bhp in 1992) front wheel drive cars, it has a tendancy to tramline under acceleration needing a frim pair of wrists to keep out of trouble.
Comments:
I commute to London by train so my 13 yr old prelude goes mainly to the station and back every day. But because I don\'t drive her in earnest all the time I love slipping behind the wheel and taking her out for a proper spin. Great value for money if you can find an unabused one.
