Pros:
Superb 2.5 litre 6 cylinder engine. It is so flexible that you only need 3 gears...1st for pulling away, 6th for almost any speed on the move, and maybe 4th only because you shouldn\'t really go straight from 1st to 6th!!!
Also fuel consumption is pretty good for a petrol engined 2.5 litre, 6 cylinder 4x4 with the aerodynamic properties of a brick... Consistently averages 27mpg on local runs and just over 30mpg on a longer journey.
Holds the road better than most saloon cars I have driven on my favourite roads through Glencoe, and north of Fort William towards the Isle of Skye
Cons:
Usual BMW [expensive] options list. Too many things that should be standard are only optional.
Very stiff suspension is the downside of the superb grip and road holding
Comments:
Couple of intermittant faults with electrics, specifically a fuel guage that occasionally stops working, and steering wheel audio controls that sometimes appear to have a mind of their own. Also recently noticed corrosion on Roof Rails (car is only 2 years old), which is pretty poor for any car, never mind a BMW costing in excess of 30K.
