Excellent DSG gearbox, good sporty ride / drive and good 2.0 TDi (140 PS) performance / economy (ave. 45 mpg).

Terrible road noise with 17" wheels, some wind noise around doors, and intermittent trim rattle mar a basically sound product. Expensive parts and servicing but below average dealers (3 tried now).

Excellent engine and gearbox let down by noise (not suitable for long journeys) and an average (at best) dealer network. Interior, trim and seats (in Sport model) are good but lack the versatility of the Ford C-Max. Running costs are the same as a Volkswagen (but service is not) and depreciation appears to be higher than on a VW - Result. Will probably sell soon (to avoid further depreciation) and buy the car I should have bought in the first place. . . A Volkswagen.
