Surprisingly reliable, quiet, comfortable, the view out, the seats, lots of room (the boot always seems big enough), lots of bits for it on eBay. Large parts can be surprisingly cheap. Will still kickdown at 90 mph.

You might manage 20mpg on a run if you're careful, but if you cared that much, you should have bought something else. Knowledgeable mechanics are essential (but not too hard to find). Has a small thirst for water, but not bad enough to diagnose and fix. Small parts can be surprisingly expensive.

Surprisingly reliable - only problems were minor and mechanical not electrical. Had it four years, it's now ten years old and I still enjoy driving it - very restful to have so much power. It's quiet. In thirty years' car owning, it's only the second that I have had for over three years and not wanted to change (other was a big Lexus). This is my sixth Range Rover, and is the lightest so far on fuel! I'm lucky to live near a Land Rover expert, so I am always happy with the servicing. When I next change the car, I will want another Range Rover.
