I have the 2005 1.5 DCI Expression,with the auto box,which I bought secondhand in November last year(08),with 29000 miles on the clock.It is a nice comfortable car,with room for 3 adults in the back,and a nice roomy boot.I also think the high gloss Flame Red paintwork is excellent,and it's also a bit different. It has a good,very economical engine,and a smooth gearbox,which is great in town,and responsive when overtaking on the motorway. Much better than my previous Citroen C3 diesel auto,which tended to hesitate,when you put your foot down! A bit scary sometimes,but no such problems with the Megane.

I had the car for only a couple of weeks when a sensor in the gearbox failed,which was repaired under warranty.Then,just after the 3 month warranty had expired,the drivers side electric window regulator failed,but Renault UK agreed to pay for the repair,as it was a known fault. I also had to get the brake stop light switch replaced,(it was affecting the engine ECU),and have also had to get a couple of bulbs replaced. Since these initial problems,the last being some 6 months ago,the car has been going well,and hopefully will remain that way. A few weeks lateer

I must say that my initial experiences with the Megane were not good,considering the car was only 3 years old,and had been serviced regularly,under the Motability scheme,and looked almost as new when I bought it. When I had it serveced in June of this year the Renault agents said the rear discs had corroded and might need replacing soon(expensive!),and the timing belt,another dear maintenance job,should be changed next year,as the car is 5 years old then. What should I do now?The car seems sorted,but next year big bills could materialise,should I part ex it now while it's running so well?
