Pros:
55 Plate petrol Mondeo 1.8 LX is reliable, plenty of room, gadgets include steering column controls for radio + cruise control, good road holding. Bought for a reasonable price at auction.
Cons:
1.8 petrol engine does not provide enough power for weight of car.... acceleration not terrific, fuel consumption is 35 m.p.g. at best with air con off. Will buy a diesel version next time.

A good car but not as fuel efficient as I'd expected.

LX model is reasonably well spec'd. Side impact protection system, cruise control, decent audio system, comfortable seats with plenty of adjustment.
Handles well but will not "set the heather on fire" in terms of acceleration.
